Item Description

A fine Indian Katar mounted with a Wootz Damascus blade forged with a swollen armour piercing tip. A triangular middle panel contains three sets of fullers on each side which converge towards the blade tip. The characteristic hilt consists of two parallel wrist bars with two baluster shaped gripsĀ  between. The grip is decorated overall with scrolling foliage, flower heads and geometric designs, in gold Koftgari.

The blade is in fine condition and the Katar has maintained its original pleasing shape with no repairs or noticeable damage to the structure. The gold Koftgari has incurred minor wear in places as can be seen in the photographs.

The blade is 8.5 inches (21.5 cm) long
